Steam is putting the spotlight on mystery and investigation next week with the return of Steam Detective Fest, running from January 12 through January 19, 2026.
Hot on the heels of the Steam Winter Sale, the Steam Detective Fest themed sale goes live at 10 a.m. Pacific on January 12. Bringing discounts and featured placements to games built around deduction, observation, and unraveling layered stories. Whether you’re piecing together cold cases, tracking down missing people, or navigating unreliable narratives, Detective Fest is designed around games that reward patience and attention to detail rather than quick reactions.
A Week Focused on Investigation and Deduction
Unlike broader seasonal sales, Steam Detective Fest keeps its focus narrow. The event highlights games where progress comes from reading between the lines, studying environments, and connecting clues rather than following objective markers.
Steam’s messaging around the event emphasizes slow-burn mysteries, unconventional storytelling, and puzzles that trust you to think things through. It’s a category that spans traditional detective stories as well as experimental narrative games that bend genre expectations.
Featured Games Included in Steam Detective Fest

When Steam Detective Fest Goes Live
Steam Detective Fest runs for one full week:
- Start: January 12 at 10 a.m. Pacific
- End: January 19
The event page will go live at the start time, with discounts, demos, and curated collections rolling out alongside it.
