By Jon Scarr
This week’s Nintendo Download is not packed wall to wall, but there is still plenty here to dig into. You get a solid update for Kirby Air Riders, a big Yakuza release on the way, and the usual batch of new games landing on the eShop.
It is a lighter week overall, but there is still plenty to check out, whether that means jumping into something you already own or scrolling through what just arrived on Nintendo Switch 2.
Updates
Kirby Air Riders
A new update is now available for Kirby Air Riders, bringing a handful of additions that make it easier to play with friends. The game now supports GameShare, letting players join in locally or online even if they do not own a copy.
The update also adds support for two players per Nintendo Switch 2 system in most online modes. In Air Ride’s Paddock mode, players can now select Grand Prix, allowing races to be grouped together with adjustable course counts and lap settings. Points are awarded based on placement, with the highest total taking the win.
It’s the kind of update that just makes playing with friends easier and more fun.
Pre-orders
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is now available for pre-order on Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of its February 12 release. The remake revisits the events of Yakuza 3, following Kazuma Kiryu as he works to protect the people closest to him while navigating the consequences of past choices.
The included Dark Ties content adds a new story centered on Yoshitaka Mine, expanding the narrative with additional character development and combat-focused sequences. Players who pre-order will also receive the Legendary Lad: Ichiban Kasuga bonus, which adds the character to the Ryukyu Gal Gang.
A free demo is available now for anyone who wants to try the game ahead of launch.
