LEGO Celebrates the Year of the Fire Horse With New Lunar New Year Sets for 2026

The LEGO Fortune Master is one of the new Lunar New Year sets for 2026.

By Jon Scarr

Lunar New Year arrives on February 17 this year, bringing in the Year of the Fire Horse. LEGO’s 2026 Lunar New Year lineup includes a mix of new and returning sets that take inspiration from familiar Spring Festival themes, including luck, prosperity, and forward motion.

Rather than focusing on a single type of build, the collection spreads things out. There are display pieces, interactive builds, and larger sets designed to be built together, giving you a few different ways to mark the season without everything feeling purely decorative.

New for 2026

LEGO Fortune Master (SKU 40864)

The LEGO Fortune Master laid out during the build process.

This collectible build centres on a Fortune Master dressed in traditional red and gold, surrounded by good luck symbols like gold coins and red envelopes. It also includes a few small interactive touches, including interchangeable eyes and a hidden compartment for storing spare pieces.

• Ages: 9+
• Pieces: 386
• Price: $39.99 CAD
• Size: Over 5 in. (13 cm) high, 4.5 in. (11 cm) wide, and 4 in. (10 cm) deep
• Notable features: 3 sets of interchangeable eyes, hidden storage compartment, display-friendly design

LEGO Botanicals Peace Lily (SKU 11504)

The LEGO Botanicals Peace Lily set displayed as home décor.

This is a display-focused Botanicals set designed for adult builders. The build recreates a peace lily in three stages of bloom, complete with detailed elements like buds and a spadix. It’s the kind of set that’s meant to sit out year-round, not just during Lunar New Year.

• Ages: 18+
• Pieces: 474
• Price: $64.99 CAD
• Size: Over 12 in. (30 cm) high, 9.5 in. (25 cm) wide, and 8.5 in. (22 cm) deep
• Notable features: 3-stage bloom build, designed for display, LEGO Builder app instructions

Spring Festival favourites returning for 2026

LEGO Spring Festival Fortune Firecracker (SKU 80118)

The LEGO Spring Festival Fortune Firecracker build during assembly.

This large display build opens to reveal one of two Spring Festival scenes, giving it a fun “reveal” element once the build is complete. It also includes minifigures to encourage storytelling and family-style building around the finished piece.

• Ages: 9+
• Pieces: 1,039
• Price: $119.99 CAD
• Size: Over 18.5 in. (47 cm) high, 10.5 in. (27 cm) wide, and 2.5 in. (7 cm) deep
• Notable features: 2 scene options, 6 minifigures, LEGO Builder app instructions

LEGO Spring Festival Galloping Horse Canvas (SKU 80119)

The LEGO Spring Festival Galloping Horse Canvas displayed as part of Lunar New Year décor.

This is the one that most directly ties into the Year of the Horse. Builders put together a framed canvas with four brick-built horses that move when you turn a handle, giving the finished piece a sense of motion instead of being purely static décor.

• Ages: 10+
• Pieces: 1,650
• Price: $139.99 CAD
• Size: Over 9 in. (23 cm) high, 11.5 in. (30 cm) wide, and 12.5 in. (32 cm) deep
• Notable features: Moving horses via handle, themed minifigures, Build Together support in the LEGO Builder app

More sets that fit the season

LEGO Icons Tranquil Garden (SKU 10315)

The LEGO Icons Tranquil Garden set displayed as home décor.

While not a Lunar New Year set specifically, Tranquil Garden fits the season’s calmer, reflective vibe. It’s a detailed build with a traditional garden layout and rearrangeable components, so you can tweak the display over time instead of locking it into one final form.

• Ages: 18+
• Pieces: 1,363
• Price: $139.99 CAD
• Size: Over 8 in. (21 cm) high, 12.5 in. (32 cm) wide, and 8 in. (20 cm) deep
• Notable features: Rearrangeable layout, pavilion and bridge details, LEGO Builder app instructions

LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Playful Cat (SKU 31163)

The LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Playful Cat set displayed between builds.

This is the smaller, more playful option in the mix. It lets you build a posable cat, then rebuild it into a cheerful dog or a curious pigeon, making it a nice pick for younger builders or anyone who likes switching up displays without buying a second set.

• Ages: 8+
• Pieces: 407
• Price: $29.99 CAD
• Size: Over 3 in. (8 cm) high, 5.5 in. (15 cm) long, and 5.5 in. (15 cm) wide
• Notable features: 3 builds in 1, posable animals, accessories like a bowl and toy mouse

Where you can find the 2026 LEGO Lunar New Year sets in Canada

The 2026 LEGO Lunar New Year sets are available now through LEGO.ca, LEGO retail stores, and select retailers across Canada. As a group, this year’s collection feels more balanced than most, mixing smaller display pieces with larger, more involved builds instead of pushing everything in one direction.

Whether you’re looking for something seasonal to put together with family or a more permanent display piece that works beyond Lunar New Year, there’s a clear range of options without the collection feeling bloated.

Compared to past Lunar New Year releases, this year spreads things out more evenly rather than focusing too heavily on a single type of build.
