Rustler – Grand Theft Horse brings over-the-top medieval chaos to the Epic Games Store as this week’s free game.

The Epic Games Store has a new free game available this week, with another game already lined up once the current offer expires. From January 22 to January 29 at 11:00 AM ET, you can claim one game for free, with the next drop unlocking immediately after.

As always, once a game is added to your library, it’s yours to keep. Even if you don’t install it right away.

This Week’s Free Epic Games Store Game

Rustler – Grand Theft Horse

Rustler – Grand Theft Horse is a top-down action game that plays like a medieval parody of classic open-world chaos. It leans heavily into humor, letting you run around a low-tech world full of peasants, knights, and questionable decisions.

Instead of cars, you’re stealing horses. Instead of guns, you’re swinging swords, firing bows, and causing trouble however you see fit. It’s intentionally messy, fast-moving, and built around creating your own problems just to see how the game reacts.

If you’re looking for something lighthearted that doesn’t take itself seriously, Rustler fits that role well. It’s easy to jump into, easy to mess around in, and doesn’t demand a big time commitment.

How Long You Have to Claim It

You can claim Rustler – Grand Theft Horse for free on the Epic Games Store until January 29 at 11:00 AM ET.

Once it’s in your library, it’s yours permanently. Even if you’re not planning to play it right away, it’s worth grabbing while it’s available.

Next Free Game Coming Soon

Epic has already revealed what’s coming next. Starting January 29, the next free game will be:

  • Definitely Not Fried Chicken – Free from January 29 to February 5

It’s a management-style game with a twist, focusing on building and running a business that isn’t quite as legitimate as it looks. If you enjoy strategy games with a sense of humor, this one is worth keeping an eye on.

Worth Adding to Your Library

Rustler is one of those games that works best when you go in with the right expectations. It’s silly, chaotic, and designed around experimentation rather than progression or realism.

With another free game lined up immediately after, this is a good week to check in, grab what’s available, and see what Epic has queued up next.
