Cloud gaming made a big push into smart TVs at CES 2026. Alongside Xbox announcing its app coming to select Hisense TVs, Boosteroid has revealed a similar move of its own. The cloud gaming platform has officially launched on Whale TV, bringing high-end PC game streaming directly to supported 4K smart TVs without the need for a console or gaming PC.
Starting today, Boosteroid is available on Whale TV-powered 4K models from brands like Philips, RCA, Sharp, Telefunken, and JVC, turning the living room TV into another place to jump into cloud gaming.
Which TVs Support Boosteroid?
Boosteroid is launching on all 4K TVs running Whale TV. That includes a wide range of mid-range and mainstream sets already on the market, not just premium or gaming-focused displays.
Once installed, the Boosteroid app lets your TV stream games at up to 4K resolution and 120 frames per second, depending on your internet connection and subscription tier. There’s no local hardware doing the heavy lifting. Everything runs in the cloud and streams straight to the screen.
The rollout covers Europe, North America, and parts of South America, with Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Brazil included at launch.
Smart TVs Are Becoming a Place to Play
This launch lines up with a broader shift we’re seeing across CES 2026. Smart TVs are no longer just displays waiting for a console or PC to be plugged in. Between Xbox expanding to new TV brands and services like Boosteroid landing directly on TV operating systems, cloud gaming is starting to feel built in.
Instead of pushing another box, these platforms are leaning into screens people already own. If your TV is capable and you’ve got a controller handy, cloud gaming starts to feel less experimental and more like a normal option.
Whale TV has pointed to its operating system making it easier for partners to bring over existing Android apps, which helps explain why cloud gaming services are appearing on more TV brands at a faster pace. For Boosteroid, this is another step toward delivering PC-level games without asking players to upgrade their hardware.
Availability and Regions
The Boosteroid app is now live on the Whale TV App Store for supported 4K models. Availability includes most of Europe, North America, and Brazil, with further expansion expected as Whale TV continues to grow its reach.
