Housemarque has confirmed that Saros will launch on April 30, 2026, alongside the release of a new trailer shown during The Game Awards 2025. The single-player action title is coming to PlayStation 5, with enhancements planned for PlayStation 5 Pro.
The new trailer debuted during The Game Awards 2025, offering a deeper look at Saros’ story, combat, and world. Pre-orders for Saros are now live on the PlayStation Store.
A New Story Set on Carcosa
Saros is set on Carcosa, a lost off-world colony trapped beneath an ominous eclipse. You play as Arjun Devraj, a Soltari Enforcer determined to track down a mysterious figure tied to the colony’s collapse. The trailer hints at strange locations, unsettling environments, and a narrative built around identity, loss, and survival.
Arjun Devraj is portrayed by Rahul Kohli, who anchors the game’s story alongside a larger ensemble cast. Housemarque confirmed that players will encounter these characters both during exploration and in The Passage, a hub area that serves as the starting point for each run. Conversations, hologram logs, and audio logs help flesh out Carcosa and its inhabitants.
Bullet Ballet Combat Returns
Housemarque’s signature fast-paced combat is back, with Saros building on the studio’s gameplay foundations. The trailer shown at The Game Awards 2025 highlights intense firefights against hostile creatures, along with a closer look at Arjun’s abilities.
One newly revealed gameplay mechanic is Parry, which allows you to reflect certain enemy projectiles back at foes with precise timing. Successful parries can stagger or eliminate enemies, adding another layer to combat encounters.
Digital Deluxe Edition and Pre-Order Bonuses
Housemarque also outlined the game’s Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes 48-hour early access ahead of launch. Players who choose the Digital Deluxe version will unlock special in-game Enforcer suits inspired by Returnal, God of War, and Ghost of Yotei, created as part of a PlayStation Studios collaboration.
If you pre-order either the standard or Digital Deluxe edition, you'll receive the Hands of Shore Armour as a bonus item.
Launch Set for April 30, 2026
Saros is now officially locked in for April 30, 2026. Housemarque says the additional time will allow the team to fully realize its vision, with more details planned for next year. Future updates will focus on extended gameplay, progression systems, and how Saros takes advantage of PS5 hardware.
Saros is shaping up to be Housemarque’s most ambitious project to date, blending cinematic storytelling with its established action-focused design. More updates are expected as launch approaches.
