Capcom shared a full slate of updates for the Monster Hunter series during the December Monster Hunter Showcase, hosted on Thursday, December 11. The presentation took place the same day as The Game Awards 2025, making it an easy event to miss during a packed news cycle.
The showcase offered new trailers and detailed breakdowns for Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 4, along with extended information on Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, which launches next year. For anyone who missed it, the updates covered new monsters, gameplay systems, limited-time events, and platform-specific improvements.
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 4
Gogmazios Returns
One of the headline additions is the return of Gogmazios, introduced through a large-scale hunt designed for expanded party play. This encounter supports groups of up to four Hunters and four Support Hunters, allowing eight characters to take part in a single hunt.
Materials earned from Gogmazios can be used to upgrade rarity 8 Artian Weapons into Gogma Artian Weapons. These upgraded weapons feature randomized set bonus and group skills, with the ability to reset or reroll bonuses using additional materials. A permanent event quest version of the Gogmazios hunt will also be available.
New High-Difficulty Challenges
Title Update 4 introduces new Optional Quests focused on tougher encounters. These include quests featuring multiple nine-star monsters, rewarding special Nameplates for Hunters who complete them.
New Hunting Exercises are also being added, offering optional practice-focused quests against tempered nine-star monsters.
On December 24, Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad arrives as a permanent Event Quest. Completing this content allows Hunters to forge a powerful Gamma armor set and further enhance armor through the Transcendence system.
Festival of Accord: Lumenhymn
Starting December 19, the Festival of Accord: Lumenhymn seasonal event arrives at the Grand Hub. During the event, the hub’s décor and meals will change, and Hunters can earn special equipment, gestures, and decorations through limited-time activities.
Steam-Specific Stability Patch
Capcom also confirmed a Steam-specific stability patch planned for January 2026. This update focuses on additional optimization options, presets, and performance improvements, building on the stability updates included in Title Update 4 across all platforms.
Title Update 4 goes live on December 16, with additional content and events rolling out through late December and into early 2026.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection
Ranger Corps and Habitat Restoration
In Monster Hunter Stories 3, you take on the role of the captain of the Ranger Corps, a group tasked with protecting endangered monster species and restoring damaged ecosystems.
A central new system, Habitat Restoration, focuses on locating endangered monster eggs, hatching them, and returning them to the wild. These actions raise an area’s Ecosystem Rank, unlocking access to rarer eggs, stronger monsters, and Monsties with unique skills.
Invasive monsters play a key role in this system. Rather than defeating them through standard combat, Rangers work to drive these threats away in order to recover endangered eggs.
Dual-Element System
The game introduces a Dual-Element system, where monsters can inherit elemental attributes from the environment in which they are hatched. This affects both their abilities and their appearance, allowing Monsties to gain new element-based skills tied to their habitat.
Arkveld Joins the Stories Series
Capcom confirmed that Arkveld, the flagship monster from Monster Hunter Wilds, will make its debut in the Stories series. The showcase highlighted Arkveld’s Kinship Skill animation as one of the game’s featured moments.
Release Date and Platforms
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection launches on March 13, 2026, and will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
