Global is starting the new year with a packed winter schedule that covers mystery, legal drama, competition series, comedies, and major franchise debuts. The network has confirmed premiere dates for new and returning shows beginning in early January, including the milestone 50th season of Survivor. Several high profile series also join the lineup, such as Harlan Coben’s Final Twist, Dick Wolf’s new drama CIA, and Taylor Sheridan’s latest project Y: Marshals.

Jennifer Abrams, Senior Vice President Content and Marketing at Corus Entertainment, says the schedule builds on a strong fall lineup. “With more top 20 ranked shows than any other broadcaster so far this fall, Global adds four of the most anticipated new midseason shows to its roster of proven hits,” she said. Abrams also pointed to excitement around the historic 50th season of Survivor and the arrival of new dramas from Taylor Sheridan and Dick Wolf.

Shows on My Winter Watchlist

Looking at everything Global has lined up, this winter feels stacked in a way we have not seen in a while. Survivor reaching season 50 is the first thing that jumps out. I remember watching the early seasons with friends, so seeing the show reach this point feels a little surreal. The fan voting twist also sounds like the kind of change that could keep things fun without losing what makes the show work.

I am also curious about CIA. Dick Wolf shows usually find their rhythm quickly, and pairing Tom Ellis with Nick Gehlfuss feels like a matchup that could be interesting to watch. It is one of the new dramas I want to try at least once to see how it plays out.

Y: Marshals is on my list too. If you follow anything tied to the Yellowstone universe, this one probably grabbed your attention as well. Luke Grimes stepping into a lead role again makes it an easy one to look out for in March.

On the lighter side, Abbott Elementary coming back always feels like a nice balance to everything else. With so many crime shows and intense dramas returning, having a comedy like this in the mix helps round out the schedule.

There is something new almost every week through January, February, and March, which makes this winter one of the most interesting TV stretches in a long time. With so many premieres landing so close together, which one are you tuning into?
