Day 4 Night Studios has revealed Bradley the Badger, a new action-adventure game that mixes exploration, traversal and freeform puzzle solving with a satirical live-action narrative. The reveal trailer premiered during The Game Awards 2025. As someone who grew up with platforming mascots, seeing a character like Bradley return in a completely new form feels both nostalgic and unexpected.

The studio says Bradley the Badger blends gameplay with live-action storytelling in a way that comments on videogames themselves. The idea of a mascot discovering unfinished worlds already sets a different tone from most action-adventure reveals. The project is currently announced for PC via Steam, with the team exploring additional platforms and consoles. Bradley is portrayed by Evan Peters in both voice-over and live-action scenes, bringing a mix of humor and emotion to the character.

A Mascot Pulled Into Unfinished Worlds

In the story, Bradley has always been the hero of popular platformers. Now he finds himself lost in strange lands that look incomplete and unfamiliar. He wants to return home, but the path forward forces him to confront something much larger than he expects. The setup feels like a play on game development itself, turning the creative process into part of the adventure.

Christian Cantamessa, Co-Founder of Day 4 Night Studios, described Bradley as both a love letter to games and a satire of them. He said the narrative is inspired by real experiences making games, from creative challenges to the joy of building new worlds. That concept alone makes this reveal stand out from typical action-adventure stories.

A Toolkit That Lets You Reshape the World

One of the most interesting mechanics is the Kit. It is a tool that lets Bradley modify unfinished assets as if he were a developer. The studio says it affects traversal, exploration, puzzles and combat in immediate ways. Bradley also carries a frying pan, which adds a bit of charm and humor to the action. As players move through these incomplete worlds, they will fight bosses, solve puzzles and uncover a larger mystery.

Davide Soliani, Co-Founder of Day 4 Night Studios, said the team wanted to make something that reconnects them with the joy of discovering games when they were younger. He explained that the mechanics are designed to bridge the past and the future, which suggests the Kit will play a major role in defining the feel of the game.

A New Studio With Major Creative Talent

Bradley the Badger is directed by Christian Cantamessa, known for work on Red Dead Redemption and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, and Davide Soliani, known for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Sparks of Hope and Rayman in the Phantom Show. The studio is funded by KRAFTON, Inc., with additional support from Xbox co-creator Ed Fries’ 1Up Ventures.

With that mix of talent behind it, Bradley the Badger is shaping up to be one of the more unusual announcements from this year’s show. We will follow every update as Day 4 Night Studios shares more details.
