Cineplex is expanding its Playdium footprint with a brand-new location planned for Vaughan Mills, adding another major entertainment space to the Greater Toronto Area. The company confirmed that construction is already underway, with the new Playdium expected to open in summer 2026.
This will mark Cineplex’s fifth Playdium location in Canada and its largest to date. The venue is being positioned as a one-stop destination for games, attractions, and food, aimed at groups, families, and anyone looking for a hands-on entertainment experience beyond traditional arcades.
According to Cineplex, the Vaughan Mills location is being designed as a flagship space that brings more attractions under one roof than any other Playdium currently operating in the country.
What to Expect at Playdium Vaughan Mills
The new Playdium will span more than 24,000 square feet and feature over 70 games and attractions. Confirmed experiences include wall climbing, a ropes course, duckpin bowling, and Gel Blasters Nexus, which blends elements of laser tag and paintball into a team-based competitive format.
Cineplex says the space is designed to welcome a wide range of visitors, from casual participants to those focused on chasing high scores. The layout is meant to support both short visits and longer group sessions, with a mix of physical activities and traditional amusement games.
Private rooms will also be available, making the location suitable for birthday parties, corporate events, and other group celebrations.
Food, Drinks, and Group-Friendly Spaces
Food and drink are a major part of the Playdium experience, and the Vaughan Mills location will continue that approach. Guests can expect a menu that includes burgers, pizza, poutine, sandwiches, nachos, fries, desserts, and drinks, with options meant to work for quick breaks or full meals between activities.
Ellis Jacob, President and CEO of Cineplex, described Playdium Vaughan Mills as the company’s most ambitious version of the concept so far, highlighting its size, range of attractions, and location in a growing community. Vaughan Mills management also welcomed the addition, noting that the new Playdium fits into the mall’s broader goal of offering shopping, dining, and entertainment in one place.
