Yours Truly Princess Peach 12-Inch Figure from Jakks Pacific review

Yours Truly, Princess Peach figure boxed and displayed against a rustic wood backdrop for a Super Mario collectible review.

By Jon Scarr

Princess Peach has had a busy past couple of years between new game, movie merch, and tons of fresh collectibles. When Jakks Pacific announced the Yours Truly, Princess Peach figure, it instantly caught my eye. I’ve been collecting Mario stuff since the NES days, and this immediately felt different from the usual Peach toys. It’s taller, has a bunch of interactive features, and even recreates her classic floaty jump move, something longtime fans instantly recognize.

I grabbed it partly because I wanted another Peach for the Mario collection, but also because I needed to know if the features were actually worth it. After hitting every button, spamming the quotes, and testing her floaty jump like I’m back playing Super Mario Bros. 2, I’ve got a clear sense of what this Peach really brings. Here’s how the Yours Truly, Princess Peach figure holds up for Mario collectors like me and younger fans who just want something fun.

Design and Build Quality

The Yours Truly, Princess Peach figure makes a great first impression the moment you pull it out of the box, especially if you’ve collected Mario stuff for years. At about 12 inches tall, it has the right look for Peach’s modern design. The colours pop, the sculpt feels clean, and her dress uses layered textures that actually look nice on a shelf.

As someone who has seen plenty of figures with questionable face sculpts, I’m happy to say Jakks nailed it here. Her expression matches her in-game style, her eyes are printed cleanly, and the crown and hair details look sharp up close. No smudged lines or crooked paintwork.

Her wider skirt gives her a stable base, so she doesn’t wobble or topple over once you set her down. That’s great if you plan to display her with other Mario pieces, and it also makes her sturdy enough for kids to play with without worrying something will break. It hits that nice middle ground, collectible quality but still tough enough for everyday use.

Features and Interactivity

This Peach figure has more going on than most Mario collectibles. She has six points of articulation, mostly in her head and arms, which is enough to adjust her pose a bit or make her look natural on display.

The audio features surprised me. Hit the amulet or the crown and she fires off 25+ Peach quotes, sound effects, and little music stings. It sounds clean, and the volume feels just right whether you’re testing it up close or showing it off to another Mario fan.

But the feature that really made me smile is her floaty jump skirt. If you press Peach gently downward, her dress expands to mimic her glide from the Mario games. It works consistently and hits that little nostalgic nerve if you grew up pulling off the same move in Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario 3D World, or Smash Bros. It’s simple, but it works, and it feels very “Peach.”

She runs on two AA batteries, and they’re included, so you’re good to go right away.

Presentation and Shelf Appeal

If you’re like me and have "a few" Mario figures lined up, this Peach fits right in. Her colours look accurate to her game appearance, and the matte finish on her dress helps her avoid that cheap shiny look some toys get. The sculpt is clean overall, and the face printing is better than expected.

She has enough weight to stay upright without a stand, and the wider base helps keep her steady. That’s nice for collectors who don’t want to fuss with display stands or deal with figures that fall over if you walk too hard past the shelf.

Whether this is your first Mario collectible or you’ve been adding to your collection for years, Peach works either way. She’s cheerful, colourful, and instantly recognizable, everything you want from a character-based display piece.

Yours Truly, Princess Peach Is a Solid Pickup for Any Nintendo Fan

From a lifelong Mario fan’s perspective, the Yours Truly, Princess Peach figure from Jakks Pacific is exactly the kind of collectible that feels fun without trying too hard. The sculpt is clean, the colours match her in-game look, and the audio and jump features give it just enough personality to keep it interesting.

The floaty jump skirt is a neat little moment if you grew up using that move, and the sound triggers feel polished instead of gimmicky. The articulation won’t let you pose her in dramatic action scenes, but that’s not really the point. She adjusts easily and looks great once you set her in place.

What I like most is how tidy the whole thing looks. No messy paint lines, nothing cheap-looking, and the size makes her stand out even if you have a full Mario setup. Kids will have fun with it, and collectors get something that actually feels worth displaying.

If you’re a Mario fan, this is an easy pickup. And if you’re just looking for something bright and cheerful to add to your desk or shelf, she fits right in. Jakks did a nice job with this one, and it’s a fun piece for anyone who loves the Mushroom Kingdom.
