Ubisoft has released Title Update 1.0.7 for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, adding a rescueable dog, new customization options for Edward Kenway and a long list of fixes. The update is now live across XBOX Series X|S, PS5 and PC.
The dog is easily the most unexpected addition. Ubisoft has hidden him somewhere in the Caribbean for Edward to find and rescue. Give him a pet when you find him and he may later turn up at the Hideout.
A Rescueable Dog Can Join Edward at the Hideout
The new dog isn’t the only addition in Update 1.0.7. Ubisoft has expanded Edward’s appearance options by letting you hide his pistols. The existing option for hiding the blowpipe remains, so you can now keep both weapon types from appearing on Edward.
There’s also a new option for trinket perk effects. Their glow can make Edward stand out visually, particularly if you have a specific look in mind. Update 1.0.7 now lets you switch those visual effects off.
The dog is the fun part of the update, but being able to clean up Edward’s look should be handy if you use Photo Mode or simply prefer seeing less gear on him.
Update 1.0.7 Fixes Gameplay, Crashes and Accessibility Issues
There’s quite a bit more happening under the hood. Ubisoft has fixed an issue where Edward could stop crouching after leaving Photo Mode during stealth, along with an air assassination bug that could leave him frozen in mid-air.
Naval boarding gets some attention as well. Explosive barrels shot with a pistol should now properly lower enemy morale, and enemies should no longer ignore Edward after he lands on a ship’s deck.
A number of crashes have also been addressed, including problems tied to the Store and News panel, Kenway’s Fleet ship selection and a rare PS5 crash when entering an out-of-bounds area. On Steam Deck, enabling HDR should no longer leave you staring at a black screen.
The accessibility fixes are worth mentioning too. Ubisoft has corrected missing menu narration and gameplay captions, along with issues affecting the red-green and blue-yellow colour-blind presets. There are several quest fixes in the update as well, but Ubisoft’s notes flag those sections for story spoilers, so I’m leaving those details out here.
XBOX Gets a Much Larger Download
The size of Update 1.0.7 varies considerably depending on platform. XBOX Series X|S requires a 15.26 GB download, while the PS5 update is 1.53 GB. On PC, it comes in at 3.86 GB through Ubisoft Connect and 2 GB through Steam.
Ubisoft hasn’t explained why the XBOX Series X|S patch is substantially larger than the others.
