The PowerA Wireless Earbuds for Meta Quest 3 and 3S are amazing! They pack some pretty cool features, like different modes. I'm not lying when I say these earbuds are awesome. It's honestly hard to say anything negative about them. Let's dive in!
The unboxing is straightforward. You get a compact box with everything you need, the case, which holds the earbuds and dongle, and the USB-C cable, which is oddly tucked under the cardboard insert.
You also get an instruction booklet. Setup is simple, and the booklet also walks you through the button functions, which I appreciated.
PowerA Wireless Earbuds Setup Is Simple
Setup is basically plugging the dongle into my headset, plugging in the AMVR adapter to charge it, and popping in the earbuds. Done. With this many wires and pieces hanging off my headset now, it's starting to feel like a Transformer.
Once I was up and running, my first impression was that everything outside of the bass felt a little light, like the bass was overpowering the rest of the sound.
Thankfully, there are a few sound modes to adjust that. Surprisingly, Bass Boost ended up being my favourite. And honestly, the sound quality is great. I really can't say anything bad about it. It might even edge out the Quest's built-in speakers, and those are already solid.
They also nailed volume control. There's a small dial on the right earbud that lets you adjust it. Simple, quick, and works flawlessly.
Comfort And Noise Isolation Are Excellent
No extra ear tip sizes are included, but they fit my ears perfectly and do a great job blocking outside noise. You can tell that was a priority for them, and I love it. Way less distraction.
Comfort-wise, these are excellent. The design fits really well around my ears. Even with a lot of movement, they don't budge.
Long wear sessions don't hurt at all, which isn't always the case with earbuds. I can wear them for hours without even noticing. They also don't trap heat in your ears, which I definitely noticed during sweaty sessions. Great for anything high-movement.
Bluetooth And Dongle Modes Both Work Great
There's both a Bluetooth mode and a dongle mode. Both work great. With the dongle, I noticed a slight delay compared to the Quest's built-in speakers. I noticed this playing Beat Saber religiously. Something felt slightly off timing-wise.
I adjusted the audio latency setting in-game, and it was perfectly smooth after that.
Battery life is rated around 10 hours. I've used them for about 3 hours so far with zero issues. The case itself doesn't hold a charge. It just stores the earbuds, and you plug the whole case in to charge them.
Out of curiosity, I checked for firmware updates, a habit at this point, and found none. But I haven't run into any issues either.
PowerA Wireless Earbuds Are Easy To Recommend
That's about everything I've got. I've genuinely been enjoying these. They don't feel gimmicky at all. Solid quality, and they do exactly what they're supposed to.
I'm usually skeptical of third-party accessories. Sometimes the hype outpaces the product, and sometimes it feels like an unfinished early-access mess. Not the case here.
If you're wondering whether they're worth it, yeah, they're great.
