Ghost of Yōtei is getting a substantial update on October 1, 2026. The new Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition adds the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion. It also includes Most Wanted, a single-player combat survival mode.
The Complete Edition will cost $89.99 CAD ($69.99 USD). It includes the main game, Ghost of Yōtei Legends, both new additions, previous Digital Deluxe Edition content and the Charm of Hokkyokusei. If you already own Ghost of Yōtei, you won't need to buy the full package again. You can pre-purchase the Complete Edition Upgrade for $19.99 CAD ($14.99 USD).
Echoes Of Sekigahara Returns To Atsu's Past
Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara adds a new story split between the present day and Atsu's time on mainland Japan. The flashbacks take you back into Atsu's past.
The expansion introduces Nagato, someone from Atsu's past. It also opens a previously unseen valley once occupied by The Snake and his followers, the Vipers. You'll encounter new enemies and find additional heavy weapons, armour sets and dyes.
I like that the expansion reaches into Atsu's past instead of simply adding another area to Ezo. It lets us see a part of her story that the main game hasn't explored.
Most Wanted Turns Combat Into Survival Runs
Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted takes the combat in a different direction. The single-player survival mode centres on bounties and repeatable runs.
You'll accept a bounty to start each run, defeat enemies and earn perks along the way. Additional playable characters can also be unlocked, and each one specializes in a different weapon style.
Atsu fights with dual katana, Oyuki uses the kusarigama and Nagato carries a yari. That means changing characters also changes the weapon style you take into a run.
Existing Ghost Of Yōtei Owners Can Upgrade For $19.99 CAD
If you already own Ghost of Yōtei, the Complete Edition Upgrade will cost $19.99 CAD ($14.99 USD). It includes Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted.
If you purchased the Ghost of Yōtei Digital Deluxe Edition through PlayStation Store, you'll receive a 20% discount on the Complete Edition Upgrade preorder price.
Pre-purchasing the upgrade by September 30 also unlocks the Sakai Armour on October 1. The armour is inspired by Jin's family armour from Ghost of Tsushima.
The $89.99 CAD ($69.99 USD) Complete Edition works differently if you're new to the game. You can start playing the main Ghost of Yōtei campaign and Ghost of Yōtei Legends immediately after purchase. The new expansion and survival mode become available on October 1.
Ghost Of Yōtei Owners Also Get A Free October Update
You don't have to purchase the Complete Edition Upgrade to get something new on October 1. A free update is also coming to everyone who owns Ghost of Yōtei.
The update adds Beauty of Yōtei mode, which provides a screensaver-like view of Ezo's environments. You'll also be able to keep the appearance of one armour set while using the stats from another.
The free update also includes new Watanabe Mode tracks and a high-contrast accessibility option. The Complete Edition adds new Photo Mode stamps, more New Game+ cosmetics and new Trophies for Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted.
The October 1 update gives you a few different ways back into Ghost of Yōtei. You can continue with the free additions or pay $19.99 CAD ($14.99 USD) for the new story and survival mode. If you haven't played the game yet, you can start with the $89.99 CAD ($69.99 USD) Complete Edition.
