March’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalog update has a much harder edge than February’s lineup. This month is packed with action, combat, and games that throw you into rough situations fast, whether that means fighting through Tyranid swarms, taking on punishing side-scrolling battles, or trying to survive underground with a group of Dwarves. There’s still some room for slower picks, but March is clearly built around heavier games.

PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members can start playing the full Game Catalog lineup on March 17. Premium members also get Tekken Dark Resurrection, which adds a classic fighting game on top of the newer releases.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Sets the Tone

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 sets the tone right away. It drops you into large-scale third-person battles as Titus, with huge enemy waves, heavy weapons, and close-range combat driving most of the action. It also brings replayable PvE missions for up to three people and 6v6 multiplayer, so it isn’t just a campaign drop. If you were looking for the biggest game in this month’s update, this is it.

EA Sports Madden NFL 26 pushes the lineup in a different direction, but it still fits the same overall mood. This year’s version focuses on updated player movement, quarterback and coach tendencies, and an AI-powered learning model built from years of NFL data. If you keep up with football every season, this is one of the first games in the update you’ll probably check.

Persona 5 Royal and Blasphemous 2 Keep the Pressure On

Persona 5 Royal gives March a huge RPG with a lot to work through. It adds new characters, more story content, more locations, alternate endings, and more ways to move through dungeons. It’s the kind of game that can carry your month on its own, and it still has one of the clearest visual identities in any modern RPG. PS4 also gets Persona 5 Royal – Ultimate Edition, which bundles in the DLC instead of leaving that as a separate extra.

Blasphemous 2 goes in a much harsher direction. It brings back the Penitent One for another side-scrolling action game filled with twisted enemies, major boss fights, and a world that keeps pulling you into stranger places. If you liked the first game, this is one of the easier picks in the lineup to get excited about.

Sci-Fi Action, Survival, and a Slower Change of Pace

Metal Eden adds a fast first-person shooter built around cybernetic combat, machine enemies, and an artificial world falling apart around you. You play as Hyper Unit Aska, sent into the city of Moebius to recover human cores and uncover what happened to Project Eden. It looks like one of the sharper pivots in the lineup if you want something fast and direct.

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria moves things underground and slows the pace a bit. You lead a company of Dwarves reclaiming Moria, gathering resources, building shelter, and pushing deeper into the mines. The world is procedurally generated, and online co-op means each trip can play out differently depending on who you bring with you.

Astroneer is the calmest game in the whole update. You dig into planets, reshape terrain, gather resources, and build bases across a seven-planet solar system. After everything else in this month’s lineup, it’s the one pick that looks best suited to a slower night.

Tekken Dark Resurrection Brings in a Retro Bonus

Premium members also get Tekken Dark Resurrection, the expanded version of Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection that first appeared in arcades and on PSP. It includes story content for characters like Armor King, Lili, and Dragunov, along with modes like Story Battle, Arcade Battle, Practice, Tekken Bowl, Gold Rush, and Tekken Dojo. It fits neatly into a month that already has a lot of fighting and combat running through it.

PlayStation Plus Game Catalog March 2026 Highlights

March’s Game Catalog update is much more action-heavy than February’s lineup. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 leads the month, Madden NFL 26 gives sports fans something current, and Persona 5 Royal adds a long RPG you can stay with for quite a while. Blasphemous 2 and Metal Eden keep the darker side of the lineup going, while The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria and Astroneer give you a bit more room to slow things down.

If you are jumping into the lineup on March 17, which game are you starting with first?
