Steam is spotlighting keyboard-driven gameplay this week with the launch of Steam Typing Fest, a themed sale focused entirely on games built around typing. The event runs from February 5 to February 9, starting at 10 a.m. Pacific.

Typing Fest highlights a wide range of games that use the keyboard as the main mechanic. Some take a calmer, more relaxed approach, while others turn typing into something much more intense. In all of these games, typing isn’t just input. It’s the mechanic.

The official trailer gives a quick look at just how broad the category has become. Typing can be cozy and educational, focused on language learning or relaxed writing, or it can be fast-paced and aggressive, where every keystroke pushes you forward or keeps you alive.

Games Featured in the Steam Typing Fest Trailer

The trailer showcases a mix of well-known and lesser-seen typing-focused games, including:

  • Typing Land
  • DEAD LETTER DEPT.
  • God of Word
  • Blood Typers
  • Touch Type Tale – Strategic Typing
  • Type Knight
  • You Can Kana
  • Typefighters (Steam Edition)
  • Slash It Ultimate
  • The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia

All of the featured games, along with many others in the category, will be discounted throughout the event. Steam describes the festival as a chance to explore how typing-based mechanics can support very different styles of play, from thoughtful and methodical to fast and demanding.

Steam Typing Fest runs through February 9, with discounts available across a wide range of typing-focused games during the event. What games do you plan picking up during this sale?
