| Pokémon’s “What’s Your Favorite?” campaign kicks off a yearlong celebration of the franchise’s 30th anniversary. |

The Pokémon Company has unveiled a new yearlong campaign celebrating 30 years of the Pokémon franchise. Titled What’s Your Favorite?, the campaign officially kicked off during Super Bowl LX with a new commercial inviting fans around the world to share their favourite Pokémon.
The Super Bowl spot introduces the core idea behind the campaign, highlighting how one simple question has connected fans across generations since Pokémon first debuted. The commercial features appearances from well-known Pokémon fans including Lady Gaga, Trevor Noah, Charles Leclerc, Jisoo, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Lamine Yamal, and Young Miko, each sharing their personal favourite Pokémon.
According to The Pokémon Company, the campaign reflects Pokémon’s long-standing goal of bringing people together through a shared connection to the franchise. As part of the announcement, president Kenji Okubo emphasized how the question “What’s your favorite?” has become a common thread within the Pokémon community, cutting across age, background, and geography.
You can join the campaign directly through Pokémon GO, which is also marking its 10th anniversary this year. A new in-game camera feature lets you create and share photos with your favourite Pokémon. If you post your snapshots using the #Pokemon30 hashtag, you’ll also see which Pokémon other Trainers around the world are picking.
In addition to digital participation, the campaign will extend into real-world experiences throughout the year. The Pokémon Company plans to host a range of global events, including “Day Out” and “Night Out” experiences. Day Out events will focus on family-friendly activities, while Night Out events are aimed at longtime fans who grew up with the franchise. Further details on these events will be shared at a later date.
