| Resident Evil Requiem key art puts Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy front and centre as the survival horror game arrives on Nintendo Switch 2. |
By Jon Scarr
This week’s Nintendo Download brings a strong mix of horror, RPGs, and Pokémon across Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The biggest addition is Resident Evil Requiem, now available on Nintendo Switch 2. Alongside that, Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition and Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition are also available now, while Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version have arrived on Nintendo eShop.
Nintendo is also tying this week’s update to Pokémon Day, with a wider focus on past Pokémon regions and a reminder that Pokémon Pokopia is next up for Nintendo Switch 2. On top of that, you also get new Nintendo Music soundtrack drops, a new Creator’s Voice feature for Resident Evil Requiem, fresh sweepstakes, and the usual wave of eShop releases.

Resident Evil Requiem
Resident Evil Requiem is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing a new survival horror story built around Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy. You move between both characters as their stories connect, with each one bringing a different way to play. Nintendo is also giving you the option to switch between first-person and third-person views, so you can choose the perspective that suits you best.
This is the headline release in this week’s lineup. It gives Nintendo Switch 2 one of its biggest horror releases so far, and it arrives with enough options to make the experience easier to tailor to your own preference.
Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition
Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition is now available digitally on Nintendo Switch 2. This version brings Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic RPG to Nintendo’s new platform with the base game, all six add-ons, and more than 150 Creation Club items included.
If you’ve been waiting to take Fallout 4 on the go with newer hardware, this is one of the bigger RPG arrivals on the platform so far. Between the main story, side quests, settlement building, and all of the extra content packed into this release, there’s a lot here from the start.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is also available now. This upgraded version brings planet Mira to Nintendo Switch 2 with up to 60 fps and 4K resolution in TV mode, while keeping the giant environments, large enemies, and Skell flight that define the game.
If you already own the Nintendo Switch version, Nintendo is also offering an upgrade pack through Nintendo eShop. That makes this one of the clearest examples so far of older Switch releases getting a stronger version on Nintendo Switch 2.
Pokémon FireRed Version And Pokémon LeafGreen Version
Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version are now available on Nintendo eShop. These Game Boy Advance favourites take you back to the Kanto region, letting you revisit the original first-generation journey in their updated GBA form.
This is the part of the week that will likely matter most if you’ve been waiting for older Pokémon releases to return. You’re getting familiar towns, familiar music, and one of the most replayed regions in the series folded into Nintendo’s current digital lineup.
Pokémon Carries A Big Part Of This Week’s Update
Nintendo is also using this week’s update to mark 30 years of Pokémon, with a digital spotlight pointing you toward major games across the franchise on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. That includes the Galar region in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, the open world of Paldea in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, and returns to Sinnoh and Hisui through Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Pokémon Shining Pearl, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
If you have Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, Nintendo is also pointing back to older Pokémon releases such as Pokémon Snap, Pokémon Stadium, and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon – Red Rescue Team. It’s a reminder of how much Pokémon history is now spread across Nintendo’s current subscription and digital library.
Pokémon Pokopia is also on the way, arriving March 5 for Nintendo Switch 2, with pre-orders already live.
Nintendo Music Adds Mario And Pokémon Soundtracks
This week’s Nintendo Music additions include the soundtrack for Super Mario Land 2 – 6 Golden Coins, giving you tracks like “Mario Land,” “Tree Zone,” and “Star Course (Space Zone).”
Nintendo also added the soundtrack for Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version, which lines up neatly with those games now being available on Nintendo eShop. That means you can jump back into the music from Pallet Town, rival battles, and gym fights even if you’re not loading up the game itself.
Creator’s Voice And My Nintendo Extras
Nintendo’s latest Creator’s Voice entry is focused on Resident Evil Requiem, with director Koshi Nakanishi talking about the team’s approach to fear, exploration, and action on Nintendo Switch 2.
There are also two My Nintendo sweepstakes active right now. The Mario Tennis Fever Sweepstakes gives you a chance at a themed prize pack, while the Play On with GameTruck Sweepstakes offers a two-hour game party for up to 15 guests. The GameTruck prize is the bigger draw here if you want something beyond standard merch.

Wrapping Up This Week’s Nintendo Download
This week’s Nintendo Download gets most of its pull from major releases already available now. Resident Evil Requiem gives Nintendo Switch 2 a major horror release, Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition adds a huge RPG package, and Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition gives you another upgraded option.
