By Jon Scarr
abxylute has announced two new deck-style controllers designed specifically for Nintendo Switch 2. The N6 and N9C attach directly to the console and aim to deliver a full-size controller experience while playing in handheld mode. Both models are wired, battery-free, and fully compatible with the system’s motion controls, vibration, and core features.
The two controllers take different approaches. The N6 focuses on comfort and stability during long play periods, while the N9C introduces a GameCube-inspired layout and mechanical inputs built around precision and responsiveness. Both are launching first through Kickstarter ahead of wider retail availability.
N6 Focuses on Full-Size Comfort and Long Handheld Play

The N6 is built around larger ergonomic grips designed to replicate the feel of a traditional console controller. Its deeper handles and wider grip structure aim to reduce hand strain during extended handheld play.
abxylute equipped the N6 with Hall-effect joysticks, which use magnetic sensing instead of physical contact. This design avoids long-term wear and helps prevent input drift. The controller also includes built-in 9-axis motion control, adjustable vibration levels, rear buttons, and turbo functionality.
A wired USB-C connection provides direct input with no wireless pairing or battery charging. Because the controller contains no internal battery, you can continue playing while the console charges.
The N6 also includes programmable rear buttons that support custom input mapping and macros. These additions allow you to assign frequently used actions to easier-to-reach controls.
N9C Uses a GameCube-Inspired Layout With Mechanical Inputs

The N9C takes a different direction, using a layout inspired by the Nintendo GameCube controller. The asymmetrical button arrangement and distinct sizing help separate primary actions by feel.
Mechanical micro-switch buttons and triggers provide faster, more precise input feedback compared to standard conductive buttons, reinforcing the controller’s focus on responsiveness. The controller also includes capacitive joysticks with swappable gate rings, allowing you to adjust how directional input responds depending on the type of game being played.
Four rear buttons expand the available controls without changing your grip. The N9C also includes an integrated rear stand for tabletop use.
Like the N6, the N9C connects directly through USB-C with no internal battery or wireless pairing required.
Both Controllers Are Built Specifically for Nintendo Switch 2
Both models are designed as plug-in handheld controllers fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2 features, including motion controls, vibration feedback, and system functions. Each includes a dedicated C button for native system communication features.
abxylute built both controllers around direct wired connections to ensure consistent input and eliminate battery management. This design keeps the console’s charging port accessible, allowing uninterrupted play while charging.
The abxylute N6 and N9C are available now through Kickstarter, with early backer pricing offered before full retail release. You can learn more and view the campaign on the official Kickstarter page.
