EBOLA VILLAGE now has a release date, with the first-person survival horror game arriving on January 23, 2026, for consoles and PC.
The game pulls from older survival horror ideas rather than modern action-driven design. It follows Maria, whose night is interrupted by an emergency TV broadcast warning of a biological threat. That broadcast sends her to a remote village in search of answers, and from there things begin to spiral.
Watching the announcement trailer, EBOLA VILLAGE doesn’t look like it’s trying to rush you through things. It looks like the kind of game that wants you to slow down, check corners, and actually pay attention to where you are, rather than constantly nudging you ahead. The rest of the setup feels pretty old-school.
Inventory and chest-based item management point to a more traditional structure, where you actually have to think about what you’re carrying instead of hoarding everything. That kind of design isn’t going to be for everyone, but it’s nice seeing a smaller project stick to it instead of sanding off all the edges.
There’s also a live-action prequel short film on YouTube that helps set things up before the game starts. You don’t need to watch it to understand what’s going on, but it does a decent job of establishing the setting and the kind of story the game is aiming for.
EBOLA VILLAGE launches on January 23, 2026, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It’s built in Unreal Engine and developed as a solo project, with Axyos Games handling publishing.
