January is the kind of month where a smaller PlayStation Plus lineup works in its favour. The holidays are over, routines settle back in, and gaming time starts to look a little more focused. This month’s PlayStation Plus lineup spreads things out between fast racing, creative platforming, and a slower sandbox experience.

PlayStation Plus members can download all three January Monthly Games starting January 6 through February 2. Whether you’re chasing speed, revisiting a classic with a fresh coat of paint, or disappearing into a deep sandbox, this lineup spreads things out nicely.

High-Speed Competition to Kick Off the Year

Need for Speed Unbound on PS5 headlines January’s lineup and brings a sharp, stylish edge to arcade racing. The mix of realistic cars and bold visual effects gives the game a distinct look, while separate single-player and online paths let you approach it your own way.

Races are built around risk and reward. You’re constantly weighing whether to push for one more event or cash out before the cops close in. It’s fast, flashy, and great for jumping in when you want something loud and competitive.

A Classic Disney Adventure, Reimagined

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed arrives as part of January 2026’s PlayStation Plus Monthly Games.

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed on PS4 and PS5
brings one of Disney’s more creative platformers back with modern polish. You play as Mickey exploring Wasteland, a strange world built from forgotten characters and abandoned ideas.

The paint-and-thinner mechanic still does the heavy lifting here. You’re constantly deciding whether to restore the world or reshape it to uncover secrets. It’s thoughtful, a little weird in the best way, and works well if you want something story-driven without being overwhelming.

A Long-Term Sandbox to Get Lost In

Core Keeper rounds out the January 2026 PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup.

Core Keeper on PS4 and PS5 rounds out January with a deep sandbox experience built around exploration, crafting, and progression. You wake up underground and slowly expand outward, gathering resources, building a base, and uncovering what lies deeper below.

You can play solo or with friends, and the pace is entirely up to you. Some nights it’s about digging and upgrading gear. Other times it’s about boss fights or reorganizing your base. It’s the kind of game that quietly eats hours once it clicks.

January PlayStation Plus Monthly Games: What Stands Out

This month’s PlayStation Plus lineup might not have a lot of games, but the variety makes it easy to find something that fits how you want to play. Need for Speed Unbound is there for nights when you want something intense and competitive. Epic Mickey: Rebrushed fits perfectly if you’re in the mood for a guided adventure with personality. Core Keeper is the slow burn, the kind of game you keep installed and return to whenever you want to unwind.

It’s a lineup that makes sense starting out a new year. Fewer distractions, more time to actually settle into something and see it through. PlayStation Plus members can download all three January Monthly Games starting January 6, with access running through February 2.

One more reminder before January starts: PlayStation Plus members have until January 5 to add PlayStation Plus' December’s Monthly Games to their library, including Lego Horizon Adventures, Killing Floor 3, The Outlast Trials, Synduality Echo of Ada, and Neon White.

Which one are you downloading first when January hits?
