FlyQuest has officially signed Dominique “SonicFox” McLean, one of the most accomplished and recognizable competitors in fighting game history. The announcement confirms that SonicFox is joining the organization’s fighting game lineup as it continues expanding its presence in the FGC.
SonicFox is known for championship success across multiple franchises, including Mortal Kombat, Injustice, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and Skullgirls. Their ability to adapt quickly to new games and perform at the highest level has made them one of the most consistent names in competitive fighting games. FlyQuest also pointed to the future of 2XKO as a key area of focus, with SonicFox expected to be part of that competitive scene as it develops.
What FlyQuest Said About the Signing
FlyQuest Esports Project Manager Kevin “PewPewU” Toy said SonicFox represents the type of competitor the organization wants to build around. He highlighted their competitive achievements, personality, and impact on the community as reasons the signing felt like a natural fit. FlyQuest President and Chief Gaming Officer Christopher Smith added that SonicFox had been a priority signing since the organization entered the fighting game space in 2023.
SonicFox also shared a statement alongside the announcement, saying they are looking to aim higher with FlyQuest and continue breaking limits through competition.
Where You Will See SonicFox Next
Beyond tournament play, SonicFox is also known for their strong presence as a creator. Their streams and content often mix high level gameplay with commentary, experimentation, and community interaction. FlyQuest confirmed that SonicFox will represent the organization across major tournaments, collaborative streams, creator activations, and community events going forward.
FlyQuest has been active in the FGC since 2023, citing multiple EVO championships and international competition as part of its growing history in the scene. SonicFox becomes the organization’s first new fighting game signing since entering the space, marking a major addition to its competitive roster.
