Mario Kart is Back!!

by Ian Matties

I can hardly believe that we are getting new courses for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but the first 8 courses have now arrived. It’s time to dust off your racing wheel and get back on the track!

Today saw the arrival of the new Golden Dash Cup and the Lucky Cat Cup featuring courses from across Mario Kart history.

If you didn’t play Mario Kart Tour you may be new to 3 of the other courses: Paris Promenade and Tokyo Blur and Ninja Hideaway, though Ninja Hideaway does not specify that it originated in Mario Kart Tour and it has been modified from that version. Originally being from British Columbia, I hope that we get Vancouver Velocity in a future release, though I’m sure many of the Mario Kart Tour courses will make their way to this Booster Pass as they have already been rendered in a higher definition.

It’s great to be getting back into Mario Kart. This isn’t the Mario Kart 9 that many people were hoping for, but I for one love that we are getting new life into this game. I will be spending many hours digging into and enjoying these new courses!

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Pass is available both as a part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack and as a standalone purchase through the Nintendo Switch eShop.
