New PlayStation App limited-release beta kicks off in Canada and Japan

Starting today, PlayStation is rolling out a limited-release beta in Canada and Japan to test a new PlayStation App feature: the ability to access and share your PS5 game captures on the go. When you enable this feature, your PS5 will auto-upload screenshots and non-4K video clips (under three minutes) you’ve captured to the cloud.

You are then able to share them with your PlayStation Network friends or parties from PS App, save them to your camera roll, or post them on social media platforms. Your game captures will be available in PS App for 14 days after they are created on your PS5 console. Since this is a limited-release beta, features can be modified at any time.

In addition, some features available during the beta may not make it into any final version or may see significant changes. iOS users in Canada and Japan can visit the App Store to download the update starting today, and no beta registration is required. The Android version is a phased release and may take one week until the update is available on your mobile device.
