5. Halo: The Fall of Reach – The Animated Series

Included with the Digital Deluxe Edition, Limited Edition and Limited Collector’s Edition of Halo 5: Guardians this animated adaptation of the novel tells the origins of Master Chief and Blue Team. We learn of the events that brought the legendary Master Chief and Blue Team together, witness their Spartan training and mission during the first days of the Covenant invasion.

3. Co-op Play

Halo 5: Guardians features a dedicated co-op experience more so than in any previous Halo game. This time around you will play with a squad of Spartans, rather than a solo experience which was the main focus of previous games in the series. Each Spartan in their respective squads are offer up different and unique gameplay, along with their  own attributes. Wither it’s a sniper rifle, extended motion tracker range, or increased speed each character will be different than the next.

Built from the ground up for multiple players and running on dedicated servers, Halo 5: Guardians allows you and your friends to jump into a co-op campaign session seamlessly. Friends can join at any time during a mission, allowing them to choose their character and help in the fight. Want to hear something cool? Achievements and collectible skulls that you earn during a co-op play session are unlocked for all players in the session! When it’s time for your friends to leave, AI automatically takes control over their characters seamlessly, you wont even know that they are gone.

2. WarZone

Fusing all the best elements of Halo into a gigantic 24 player multiplayer mode, Warzone features two teams of 12 players each, with multiplayer maps so massive that they are up to four times the size of previous Halo multiplayer maps. Holy cow! Featuring two different modes, the first mode employs AI-controlled opponents and a base for each team. While the second mode does not have any AI opponents, and has both teams defending their home base at the same time attacking the opposing team.

To win in WarZone, you will need to complete mission objectives to earn 1000 victory points, or destroy your enemy’s core. Each team’s mission objectives are straight forward – capture three bases, and eliminate enemy SPARTANS to earn precious victory points. Once a team has captured all three of the bases, the enemy’s core is exposed, destroy the core and you will instantly win.

Halo 5: Guardians features the largest story and showcase of characters to date in any Halo game, including both new and familiar faces. Spanning three worlds, Halo 5: Guardians story takes place eight months after Halo 4, where a mysterious and unstoppable force threatens the galaxy. In the face of this insurmountable force, Master Chief has begun to question all of his former beliefs and has suddenly disappeared along with Blue Team. With Master Chief's loyalty under question, UNSC’s man hunter – Spartan Locke along with team Fireteam Osiris, set out to uncover the truth, find Master Chief and the Blue Team.

Final Thoughts

It’s clear to see that Halo 5: Guardians is shaping up to be one of, if not the best games this year on any console.
